Arkansas Gov, GOP Presidential Candidate, and gaffe machine Mike Huckabee continues to put his foot in his mouth. This time, reports Think Progress, Huckabee said:
“most of our prisoners would love to be in a facility more like Guantanamo and less like the state prisons that people are in in the United States.”
NJDC has blogged about Huckabee's verbal adventures in the past. In January, NJDC reported that Huckabee called on religious voters to "take this nation back for Christ." In October, we reported that Huckabee "joked" that he lost weight because Democrats put him in concentration camp.
Just last week, we blogged about Huckabee's recent call-to-arms to religious conservative voters and mentioned how Mr. Moral made news before leaving the Arkansas Governor's Mansion, when he set up gift registries on a few websites, allowing lobbyists and others seeking to curry influence to know exactly what gifts to purchase for he and his wife.
The quote from last week's post bears repeating:
“He’s using the trappings of the governor’s office to get everything he can, and the sad part of it is, I honestly believe he does not see anything wrong with this,” said Kerns, a retired lawyer for the Department of Veterans Affairs. “It’s like ‘ethics’ is a foreign word to him.”
